Something to look forward to: Marvel Studios revealed a gripping new trailer for its upcoming 'Captain America: Brave New World' at the D23 Brazil fan event this weekend. Stars Anthony Mackie and Danny Ramirez were present to hype up the crowd before premiering the fresh footage from the Phase Five film.

The trailer opens on a somber note, with Sam Wilson/Captain America (Mackie) visiting Isaiah Bradley (Carl Lumbly) in prison. Though Bradley can't recall the details, we see he was involved in an assassination attempt on the newly elected US President Thaddeus "Thunderbolt" Ross, played by Harrison Ford in his Marvel Cinematic Universe debut.

As Wilson investigates the conspiracy, Bradley asks Cap to be careful. We learn there were five coordinated shooters behind the attack on Ross. While determined to uncover the truth, the mystery only deepens for Wilson. At one point, he receives an ominous call questioning, "Do you ever wonder who's playing who?"

Stakes escalate when Wilson appears framed, setting up an epic clash against the fully transformed Red Hulk, Ross's powerful alter ego that was teased in the initial trailer in July. The clip concludes with the two squaring off.

Brave New World isn't just Mackie's first solo Captain America adventure after inheriting the mantle from Chris Evans' Steve Rogers in 'Avengers: Endgame.' It's also a continuation of storylines from 2008's 'The Incredible Hulk,' making it a canonical entry years in the making.

Helmed by Julius Onah with a script from Malcolm Spellman, Dalan Musson, and Matthew Orton, the movie boasts an impressive ensemble. Joining Mackie, Ford, Lumbly, and returning Liv Tyler as Betty Ross are Danny Ramirez as the new Falcon, Giancarlo Esposito as Sidewinder, and Tim Blake Nelson as The Leader.

Mackie's initial turn as Cap in 2021's 'The Falcon and the Winter Soldier' earned praise from fans and critics. The series netted five Emmy nods and established Wilson as a formidable new protector of the Marvel universe.

Now, with a nefarious plot brewing and global catastrophe looming, it's up to Wilson to live up to that legacy. 'Captain America: Brave New World' hits theaters on February 14, 2025.
