Something to look forward to: We're just one week away from the launch of the two of this year's biggest games: Stalker 2 and Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, both of which are coming to Microsoft's PC Game Pass. With their arrival imminent, a slew of details are being released, including benchmarks, final system specs, and supported Nvidia features.

Starting with Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl, GSC Game World has now finalized the system requirements, increasing the required storage and minimum RAM and CPU requirements.

The Stalker 2 system specs only arrived at the start of the month. They were pretty forgiving, considering how good the game looks, though the fact it required 150GB of storage was a disappointment for those with limited space left on their SSDs.

Now, though, GSC Game World has changed the storage requirements for Stalker 2. Sadly, players will now need 160GB, a 10GB increase.

Something else that's been increased is the minimum RAM requirement, which has now jumped from 8GB to 16GB, while the minimum Intel CPU has gone from a Core i5-7600K to a Core i7-7700K. The AMD Ryzen 5 1600X minimum CPU is unchanged.

The specs for the Unreal Engine 5-powered game now have four graphics presets with target resolutions. The High setting (1440p/60fps) is the recommended one, asking for a RTX 4070/Radeon RX 6800 XT paired with at least a Core i7-11700/Ryzen 7 5800X.

Going up to Epic (4K@over 60fps) bumps this up to at least a Core i7-13700KF/Ryzen 7 7700X paired with a RTX 4080/RX 7900 XTX. Expect Stalker 2 to become a common sight in graphics card and CPU benchmarks following its release.

Nvidia has provided some of its own benchmarks showing Stalker 2's fps with and without DLSS 3. Even the mighty RTX 4090 with an i9-14900K can't hit an average of 60fps at maxed-out 4K, though enabling DLSS 3 (Performance Mode) pushes this to 124 fps. The same setup averages 75fps at 1440p and 85.5fps at 1080p without DLSS 3, or 145fps and 165 fps with it enabled (Quality Mode). These are Nvidia's own numbers, so take them with a pinch of salt.

Nvidia didn't provide any benchmarks for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, though it did confirm support for DLSS 3 and other Nvidia features, including ray tracing, Reflex, and DLAA, from day one. Microsoft previously released the full requirements list (below) for the game.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl releases on November 20. Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 arrives a day earlier, November 19.

6800xt for 1440p 60fps ? It seems like the Unreal Engine 5 does demand a mid-high or high tier GPU. When my 3070ti becomes the minimum requirement, I will upgrade xD

Does this really need 32GB of RAM? Isn't VRAM more important? It's not even mentioned.

Why is there no AMD/Nvidia for Flight Sim? Just because one buys AMD CPU doesn't mean they want AMD GPU.

You still need to swap textures from RAM to VRAM because the GPU can't always hold everything in VRAM, plus the other things a game needs to run. 32GB has slowly started to become the recommended system spec for high settings. 16 should still be enough for the vast majority of cases.

Yeah, 32GB has been creeping as the "standard" for a while now, and I'd recommend as such for pretty much all gaming rigs nowadays.

I don't like UE for first person games. Performance is never great, and something always feels off about the camera and mouse control.

52 fps at 4k max settings is playable. I am hoping that a tweaked 4090 at 3ghz can get to 60 fps.
The elephant in the room Nvidia is using i9 14900k while 9800x3d promo performance slides from AMD are using the 4090.

Based on the performance figure, 14900k bottlenecking the rtx 4090.
This game is perhaps cpu bound even at native 4K max settings.

Here’s a rundown of what’s new for each game’s system requirements and supported features:

  1. S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 System Requirements: GSC Game World has upped the system demands:
    • Storage: Now 160GB, up from the original 150GB.
    • RAM: Minimum requirement has jumped from 8GB to 16GB.
    • CPU: For Intel users, the minimum has risen to a Core i7-7700K, while the AMD minimum stays at a Ryzen 5 1600X.
As for performance tiers, High settings (1440p at 60fps) will need an RTX 4070 or Radeon RX 6800 XT paired with at least a Core i7-11700 or Ryzen 7 5800X. The Epic settings at 4K/60fps recommend even more powerful setups, like an RTX 4080 or RX 7900 XTX and a Core i7-13700KF or Ryzen 7 7700X.
  2. DLSS 3 Support for S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Nvidia benchmarks show the impact of DLSS 3 for improving fps, even with high-end setups. For instance, an RTX 4090 with an i9-14900K couldn’t reach 60fps in 4K without DLSS 3, but enabling it boosted performance significantly.
  3. Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 Features: While detailed Nvidia benchmarks aren’t available, the game will support DLSS 3, ray tracing, Reflex, and DLAA from launch, adding enhanced visuals and responsiveness for compatible GPUs.
Both games will be benchmarks for new hardware, especially for users seeking optimal performance with features like ray tracing and DLSS. If you’re upgrading your PC or looking for new benchmarks, these titles will provide a clear picture of your system’s capabilities.

Which is funny, because the engine only exists because it was created for first person games. I do agree though, modern UE seems more setup for third person now than first person.

Or most developers using it are just a bit rubbish at really making it feel correct and snappy.

You can take the cpu from one column and match it with the gpu from the other, as long as they're from the same settings.

The actual difference could be of about 10%, but cpu and gpu from each settings are kind of similar
