Rumor mill: The upcoming GeForce RTX 5070 Ti has made its rumor mill debut, following the months-long trickle of details surrounding the 5090, 5080, and 5070. New details indicate that the 5070 Ti's architecture might resemble the 5080 more than the 5070, echoing its predecessor – the 4070 Ti Super.

Established leaker Kopite7kimi recently shared details regarding Nvidia's rumored GeForce RTX 5070 Ti GPU with VideoCardz. The core count and shipping data suggests it will feature a cut-down version of the chip powering the 5080, rather than an enhanced 5070 processor.

The 5070 Ti will reportedly include 8,960 CUDA cores. Prior leaks established that the GB205 GPU, upon which the 5070 is based, enables a maximum of 6,400 cores, indicating that the Ti uses the 5080's GB203 instead. The 5070 Ti's internal codenames, PG147 and SKU 60, also resemble the 5080's label – SKU 45.

Moreover, the 5070 Ti is expected to draw 300W compared to the 5070's rumored 250W. Whether the number represents average power consumption or total board power remains unclear.

Clock speed and memory are the most important undisclosed details. The 5070 and 5080 feature a disappointing 12GB and 16GB of GDDR7 VRAM, respectively. Guessing which amount the 5070 Ti leans toward is difficult, as the original 4070 Ti included 12GB but the 4070 Ti Super, released a year later, increased VRAM to 16GB.

Nvidia is expected to unveil the RTX 5000 series, codenamed Blackwell, at CES in late January, and the rumored specs are subject to change. Although the company hasn't officially confirmed plans to introduce new GPUs at the event, all signs strongly support the possibility.

Prior reports indicate that Nvidia is ceasing production of nearly all RTX 4000 graphics cards and transitioning to RTX 5000. Furthermore, during its Q3 2024 earnings call, the company projected gaming revenue to trend downward in Q4 before recovering in the first quarter of 2025, likely due to dwindling RTX 4000 supply followed by Blackwell's introduction at CES, where CEO Jensen Huang will deliver a keynote.

The unveiling is expected to include the flagship RTX 5090, which features 21,576 cores, 32GB of VRAM, and a 600W TBP. Bits and Chips recently reported that it will retail for $1,900. The 5080 will probably also appear, but the 5070 and 5070 Ti might emerge later in Q1.

As expected...cards for the non whale plebs, will be cut down, gimped crap.

...and you'll be expected to be grateful.

At least we will have 500fps in Counter Strike 2. :)

A 300W GPU for a mid-tier card is wild. At this rate, we’re going to need a separate power grid just to keep our gaming PCs running. Someone better warn the electricians before Blackwell drops.

I remember the times when 2080Ti profile threads folks kept telling me "stop being jelaous" or "not ur busines, stfu or we ban you!!11" when I wrote they're plain *****s for paying 1500$+ and making a point for 2080Ti.

I hope they will be glad to pay 3000-3500$ for 5090...

Pretty sure the Scalpers are salivating in anticipation of the 5090 as we speak. With so many scalpers in the equation, I find $3.5K a bit optimistic for the ebay 5090's as all stock from legit sources will have dried up.

We'll see again ppl queuing outside Microcenter for sure.

Whay do you blive it will at all sale Achaios ? :)
isen't thare good options today alredy for mutch more normal prices ?
like RNDA 2 and 4070 Ti or super ?

Yeah, darn those Power Police forcing you to buy 300w GPUs with their dastardly naming scheme!

Or you could just buy lower power GPUs.....

Gee, you walked into a forum and started acting like a bellend, cant imagine why the users there told you to go pound sand.

>complains therea re no good "normal" options
>mentions two "normal" options in the same paragraph.

I swear, the PC community is full of people who want to bellyache about everything these days....

I remember before the 4000 rtx series everyone was suggesting that power consumption will only go down. I went ahead and picked up a 850 PSU anyway. Happy I did.

the 5090 will be almost 2000$ :(
you wrong, it not the belly that is ache, it bankache :(

They are? Ive seen a million comments about this. They all wish 5090 was 5000 dollars or even more, so nobody can get it but them. Ya know, being in a exlusive 5090 club or something. Having em for 1600-2500 makes them too easy to buy LOL. Weird peole but whatever ;p

It is a business, and not a charity. Pretty much every chip vendor that is out there designs chips, cuts these out from wafers, and sells the best (functioning) parts for the highest price. Half functional chips are sold as mid to low end. AMD does the same. Intel does the same.

If the performance is on par, you'll likely get 3+ years out of your investment anyways since graphics hardware and CPU's have a extreme long longelivity.

If you don't like it, don't buy.

I got a 2080 Ti, and still using it. It isn't such a bad price to pay for top of the line if you know you're not going to upgrade for half a decade or more, and I've definitely benefited from the extra VRAM (11 Gigs) that came with it, though it is showing its age these days. As a rough example, a top of the line rig will set you back around 4-5 grand prebuilt, so if you keep it for 5+ years that's less than a grand per year, and if you do incremental upgrades of parts then you can probably keep the ongoing price about the same.

I'm planning on doing a whole new rig next year, now that the CPU side is fairly settled it's just a matter of waiting for the next generation of cards (including Intel, if they all get their stuff out "on time"). Will probably still buy Nvidia since I also run local language models, and the higher end card with the extra VRAM will be very nice to have for that, but still want to see everything out there before making a decision.

If you thought the 2080 Ti was bad, remember that they released the RTX Titan for 2500 MSRP (vs 1200 MSRP for 2080 Ti) which had about the same performance as the 2080 Ti (it was like, I dunno, 10% more) but double the RAM. Definitely not going to be paying for any flagship cards if they don't have both more performance and more memory. Rumors seem to suggest the 5090 will be both, though, so I expect, as others have said, the scalpers to salivate like crazy.
