As we expected, the Core i5-13600K is a much more practical and better value CPU than not just the 13900K, but also the 13700K, particularly when focusing on gaming. At the high-end we feel strong arguments can be made for both Intel Raptor Lake and AMD Zen 4, but towards the mainstream segment it looks as though Intel is on a comfortable position over AMD.

The 13th Gen Intel Core i5 should make us question what being a "mid-range" CPU even means in this day and age. It might fall short of a few Raptor Lake bells and whistles that are reserved for an i7 or i9, but the 13600K is undoubtedly the best 13th Gen processor for the majority of players. It isn't exactly cheap for an i5, and that power comes at a cost. But whether it's gaming, content creation, or a bit of everything, this is a brilliant CPU.
The Core i9-13900K review came to the conclusion that while it is worthwhile to purchase, it definitely isn’t for the majority of consumers. Here, the outcome is very different. The greatest CPU to get right now if you’re constructing a gaming PC is the Intel Core i5 13600KF. It costs approximately half as much as the Core i9 and performs almost as well for gaming out of the box.
Intel's Core i5-13600K is pricier, power-hungrier, and hotter-running than its predecessor, but it's hard to argue with the raw performance this CPU gives you for the money, especially for PC gamers.
