Unfortunately these sorts of people, because they are ruthless and utterly self-serving, tend to get into positions of power. The higher you climb the more poisonous you are likely to be. Although he isn't part of Google anymore I expect he has plenty of stock and wants that to continue making money for him. Given the sort of man he is, you can bet he will put that before any moral, ethical or environmental consideration.
